INTRODUCTION

Mega Man Star Force 2 Not Quite DX is a mod for Mega Man Star Force 2 which
lowers the game's notoriously high encounter rate. Some of the Sub Cards have
been adjusted a bit so they can still be used effectively with the lowered
encounter rate.

This mod also tweaks the requirements for some of the doors in the postgame area
so that you no longer need to connect to other players in order to open them.
Aside from that, you can now get the event Battle Cards and Brothers in-game
without needing to use cheats.

FEATURES

 * Adjusted the encounter rate for all areas; for most areas it has been
reduced by 40% - 60% based on the encounter rates in MMSF1 and MMSF3.
 * SrchEye, FireSrch, AquaSrch, ElecSrch and WoodSrch now double the encounter
    rate while active.
 * Combining Cloaker with FireSrch, AquaSrch, ElecSrch or WoodSrch now
increases the SP Boss encounter rate (regardless of the boss's element).
 * Changed Trans Dimension 2 door requirement: 1000 Link Power -> 800 Link
Power. (This is the max you can get with the Auto Brother + 2 event
    Brothers.)
 * Changed Trans Dimension 2 door requirement: 50 Network Battles -> 500 Battle
    Cards total.
 * Changed Trans Dimension 2 door requirement: 6 Real Brothers -> 1000+ damage
    Personal Best Combo.
 * After beating the main story, you can obtain the Legendary Master Shin and
1st Mega Man event Brother Bands at the Wave Stations in the Wilshire Hills
Shopping Plaza. (Note: they have the Tribe from the other version, so you
can use Tribe King legitimately through this.)
 * After beating the main story, you will automatically start the Mega Man
Battle Network crossover quest. (You can still start it earlier by slotting
    in a GBA MMBN game.)
 * After beating the main story, you can receive the King Grandeur event Battle
Card from Legendary Master Shin in Wilshire Hills Shopping Plaza.
 * After beating the postgame, you can receive the Le Mu event Battle Card from
Legendary Master Shin in Wilshire Hills Shopping Plaza.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Can I import an existing MMSF2 save file?
A: Yes, you can use your existing MMSF2 save file.

Q: Can I restore an MMSF2 Not Quite DX save file to the
    unpatched version?
A: Yes, you can copy your save file from MMSF2 Not Quite DX back to the
original game. When you do, event Battle Cards and Brother Bands will carry
over, and opened Trans Dimension doors will stay open.

Q: Why is it called Not Quite DX?
A: Because it's not Mega Man Star Force 2 DX. Or in other words, this mod
doesn't contain any new features or content that would make it "DX".
(e.g. hard mode, database feature, etc.)

Q: Will there be future updates?
A: No content updates are planned but I may release a new version based on
player feedback or if bugs are found.

Q: Is the source code available?
A: Yes: https://github.com/Prof9/MMSF2-Not-Quite-DX

Q: Is this mod compatible with other MMSF2 mods (e.g. the undub)?
A: The patch file for MMSF2 Not Quite DX can only be applied to an unmodified
MMSF2 ROM. It may be possible to apply other mods on top of that, but this
    is not supported.

Q: Will there be a full-fledged Mega Man Star Force 2 DX?
A: There are currently no plans to produce Mega Man Star Force 2 DX, or a Mega
Man Star Force 3 DX for that matter.
